Tell us about yourself! What makes you, “you”?
I am a Sylvania Northview Cosmetology graduate. I graduated in 2013 and have been doing nails since.
Describe your business/services and then tell us about what brought you to creating this business and why you’re passionate about it.
We are an all natural, organic nail salon that focuses on the natural nail to keep them healthy and growing in their own. We use locally made lotions and oils while also using an in-house sugar scrub for pedicures. We offer 14-free, vegan and cruelty free nail Polish and Gel Polish. When I decided to open a nail salon I knew I wanted to be as chemical free as possible. The things we breathe in and apply to our skin on a daily basis effects more that you think. Removing these makes it better for us but also better for our clients, creating a healthy and relaxing atmosphere.
What goals do you have for your business in the future?
We want to expand and offer a wider variety of natural services that people can come and enjoy in a spa like setting.
What is your proudest achievement?
Opening our first Elevate location.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced as a business owner and how did you overcome it?
The biggest challenge faced so far was opening in the middle of a Pandemic. We knew it would be challenging but we stayed persistent and patient and we made it through.
What advice would you give to a woman looking to start a business or get into a leadership role? Is there one thing that has helped you specifically?
Do it. Don’t doubt yourself and overthink, just do it. There are always new things to be learned and positions to be filled but unless you take a leap of Faith, you’ll never know what is on the other side.

Why do you feel it’s important to collaborate and empower other women?
It is so easy for us to get brought down through the words of others. If we choose to lift each other and support each other, I don’t see how we can’t be successful.
If you could recommend one resource (book, podcast, quote, class, website, etc.), that has helped you in life or in business, what would it be and why?
“Control your controllables” There are only a few things we actually have control over. If you focus on the things you can change instead of becoming anxious about things you can’t control, you are bound for success no matter the situation.
